Auditions Set for Youth Theatre Camp

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival will hold auditions in Montgomery for its elite two-week theatrical summer camp, the ASF State Youth Theatre Program, on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon.  The auditions will take place at ASF, located at 1 Festival Drive.

Students may also be asked to read a part from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Also required at audition check-in is a photo and resume or a list of experience and training. If a professional photograph is not available, a photo representing the student's current likeness is acceptable.

The goal of the camp is to have students learn and work in a regional theater setting with professional New York–based actors. The camp will conclude with two performances of Twelfth Night, which will include the campers as well as their instructors.

The camp will take place from May 27–June 9, 2013. Campers will be housed at Huntingdon College in Montgomery. Classes and performances will take place at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. The cost of the two-week camp is $1,200 and includes room, board, instruction, and performances. A limited number of scholarships will be available.

For an audition reservation or more information contact ASF's director of education and resident artist Greta Lambert at glambert@asf.net or 334-271-5393.
