New Orleans Measure,
Fairytale Gents Tour Parks

The Cleveland Shakespeare FestivalThe Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is celebrating its 16th consecutive season of presenting free, live outdoor performances of the works of William Shakespeare to audiences in Northeast Ohio with productions of Measure for Measure and The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

CSF Artistic Director Tyson Douglas Rand is setting his Measure for Measure in a Vienna reminiscent of New Orleans, with the competing strains of gospel and jazz music in the air. For The Two Gentlemen of Verona, director Pandora Robertson is utilizing a fairytale setting and a physical style reminiscent of commedia dell'arte.

Measure for Measure opens Friday, June 14, on the Quad at Notre Dame College in South Euclid. Two Gentlemen of Verona opens the following Friday, June 21, in the same location. Both shows will continue in repertory (Measure for Measure on Saturdays and Two Gentlemen of Verona on Sundays) at various outdoor locations throughout Northeast Ohio, with the following current schedule:

All shows start at 7:00 pm. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and seat themselves prior to each outdoor performance. Rain spaces have been secured for every venue except Wade Oval, allowing performances to proceed rain or shine.
