Growth Requires Move to New Theater

Reduxion Theatre Company logoOklahoma City's Reduxion Theatre Company (RTC) will be moving to a new theater in downtown Oklahoma City's Automobile Alley in early 2014. The new performance venue is located at NW 9th St. and Broadway Ave. on the first floor of the historic Cadillac building.  RTC donors Kristian and Debra Kos sponsor this new theater space and RTC's move.

"RTC's growth necessitated a larger venue," Executive and Artistic Director Tyler Woods said in a press release. "The energetic location and space in the Cadillac building is perfect for the next phase of RTC's expansion." It was important for RTC to keep the intimacy of its current space at 1613 North Broadway Ave. but expand the capacity of the venue for its growing audience numbers.

RTC's new space will be within walking distance of several restaurants and bars on 9th St. and the Automobile Alley locations. RTC has received encouragement and support for the move from several Automobile Alley and 9th St. businesses.

The musical Cabaret closed Nov. 16 as the final production in RTC's current location at 1613 North Broadway Ave.

The grand opening of RTC's new space will be on Friday, Feb. 7, with the opening of the William Shakespeare's As You Like It. "We will open the space to the public with our Valentine's Day show," said Woods. "I cannot wait for our patrons to see our fantastic new home right in the heart of a thriving neighborhood."
